Mr. Andreas und sein Bestiarium. Mr. Andreas and his bestiary

Even on vacation my good eye never sleeps. I could find motives that I would never picture at home - and at the same time whitness stories good enough for several blogposts.
Story no. 1 is about Mr. Andreas and his bestiary. It goes a little something like this:

About three kilometers away from Limnionas/ Samos the end of the world begins. And there's a taverne at the end of the world. You can't miss it if you keep following the rocky road along the shore. There is just no other way.

Ausserdem wurde nicht auf Beschilderung verzichtet.
Besides they didn't save up on signs.

Wiederum beschildert.
After an hour at moust including breaks for taking photos you'll reach the end of the world. A sign will tell you so.

There you'll meet the owners Andreas and Cilly that run this completely self-sustaining taverne.
You will be fed and entertained by their wonderful food and tellings. It might even happen, that the subject "wild beasts of the area" comes up which will unevitably brings you to three bottles filled with ethanol and Mr. Andreas bestiary. One bottle contains a huge grasshopper, one contains a viper and one contains several dozens of scorpions. Every night before sleep Andreas takes a tong and searches the upper flour for scorpions. He fetches them with the tong and kills them with ethanol before putting them into bottles.

I was especially struck by the scorpions. Indeed, I have a feeling like my collection of belts will soon be joined by a new one called "scorpio". I've already made some sketches.

  3. Yes it's a greek island, though not far away from Turkey. We made trips to Turkey twice, because it is that close.
